The October 2015 Mom page.
Just a group of women with one single thing in common.
Our due dates.
It started as a Facebook page, A friend added here or their, moms wanting to escape the harsh words and forums of other groups. Our page was a sanctuary. And some how, its always stayed that way.
We were pregnant together, Listened to one another's pregnancy highs and woes. We got fat together, we ate whole tubs of ice cream and jars of pickles. We went to the appointments and talked about the way we waddled.
And then our babies started coming. Once it started it didn't stop! Everyone was so excited, the ones with babies were tired and joyous telling us how our life would change, and to embrace the last nights of sleep. As us still pregnant women complained about how sleep was impossible (little did we know) and we were in bliss in our ignorance, impatient for our own little ones to arrive. Some of us were ready, others not so much.
There were SO MANY birth stories. Some wonderful, some really really awful ones.
And now our babies are growing! They are learning to sit up, learning to roll. Some will be crawling and standing and walking soon.
Our conversations have gone from getting the nursery ready to getting our babies to sleep anywhere! Our page is full every day of photos and stories about what our babies did today, what we cant wait for them to do tomorrow. We are all so deep in this journey of motherhood, we have highs and lows, we have HILARIOUS stories, and some really sad ones. Sometimes all we have is each other.
And it has truly been a blessing to be a part of something so amazing.
I wish the whole world could embrace one another the way we have in this group. Moms have to stick together. We have to advocate for one another. No one knows what its like to be a mother until you are one.
There are millions of debates on breastfeeding and formula, baby wearing, solid foods, shots, you KNOW I could go on and on. But those are not an issue on our page. Every opinion is respected, every woman honored. Because it does not matter the little choices you are making. The only thing that matters is that you and me, were going through it all. Together. And we desperately need one another. Every mother deserves a good support system.
My name is Leann, I am just one mom on this wonderful page. And I am starting this blog, to share with you. To share our stories, our advice, our hard moments and our laughs. Because A community of moms who get along and have each others backs is a rare thing. And its something everyone deserves to be a part of.
I hope and pray that when you read our stories, you can find support and comfort. That you can know, deep in your heart that you are never alone.
This is a safe place for peace, for support, for love. For motherhood at its best. From the posts to the comments you can expect a judgment free zone. Because that is important to me, and to us as a group.
